Ph.D
Joined the Hollfelder group: October 2023
Background and Current Projects: I pursued my undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with a 1st class grade in 2023. In 2022, I had the privilege of leading the iGEM team at the University of Edinburgh, where we embarked on developing a cell-free system to address pressing water pollution issues in Ghana. Additionally, our 2022 iDEC team endeavoured to enhance the heavy metal capture efficiency of metallothionein through directed evolution. My core interest lies in protein design and engineering with a goal to tackle global health and sustainability challenges. At present, I am immersed in an MPhil project within Hollfelder's lab, focusing on "Systematic exploration of catalytic fitness of imine reductases informs engineering of novel sustainable biocatalysts", a venture aimed at pioneering advancements in the engineering of sustainable biocatalysts.
